A Book List

A reader, "Sydney," asked me for books for being a Christian husband and an Aspie.  There's almost jack diddly squat that covers that in a book.  But there are good books to be had, taken together, that will cover down on most of the issues required, and here are some of my selections, in no particular order.

Manhood and Manliness:
Wild at Heart - John Eldredge
Fathered by God - John Eldredge
Gates of Fire - Steven Pressfield
We Were Soldiers Once... And Young - Lt. Gen. (Ret) Harold Moore & Joseph Galloway
In the Presence of Mine Enemies - Howard Rutledge
In Love and War - James & Sybil Stockdale
If - Rudyard Kipling
Lords of the Earth - Don Richardson
Your God is Too Safe - Mark Buchanan
The Abolition of Man - C. S. Lewis
Parzival - Wolfram von Eschenbach

Christian Life:
Waking the Dead - John Eldredge
Desiring God - John Piper
The Holy Wild - Mark Buchanan
The Screwtape Letters - C. S. Lewis
Escape From Reason - Francis Schaeffer
Beautiful Outlaw - John Eldredge
Wartime Prayer Book - Fulton J. Sheen

Asperger's Syndrome / ASD:
Reasonable People - Ralph James Savarese
Look Me In The Eye - John Elder Robison
The Complete Guide to Asperger's Syndrome - Tony Attwood

Marriage:
Love and Respect - Emerson Eggrichs
The Five Love Languages - Gary Chapman

Many of the above books, especially Eldredge's Wild at Heart, cover more than one of the categories above.  Unfortunately, almost nothing covers Asperger's except books about Asperger's.  And those are nearly always about children, and from the outside looking in.

I have no idea what this guy's talking about. Who comes up with this schtick anyway?
